Cytokines are proteins that are produced constitutively as well as upon stimulation by a lot of cell types. And the molecules probably have an even larger number of target cells. They are important messengers and growth factors in the system. Without cytokines or imbalance in different cytokines may contribute to illness and disease.

The larger part of this site is about cytokines. Which cells and which kinds of stimulation to use to detect a certain cytokine. Using a transport inhibitor or not. The site will not go into the function and other properties of cytokines. Please mail us with specific questions and suggestions to further improve the site!
